These Long Darner needles are made of quality English steel.  They have a long flared eye and long shank ending in a sharp point.  Traditionally used for mending, especially with wool.  The #7 is the ideal needle for picture smocking.  Larger needles are wonderful for extra long or chunky bullions, Brazilian embroidery and other twisted thread stitching.  Want a similar needle but a shorter length?  Choose a Crewel needle.
